Early Beginnings: From Young Zezo to a Solo Vision
Oristar first stepped into music through the band Young Zezo, where he performed as both a vocalist and dancer. The group became his foundation, helping him learn performance craft, stage presence, and confidence. These early experiences paved the way for his transformation into a solo artist with a distinct musical identity.
Guided by influences such as Afrobeat, Afropop, Congo Fleva, Amapiano, and contemporary African music, Oristar began shaping a sound that honours his roots while embracing global trends.
Building a Global Identity
Becoming a solo artist came with challenges. As an independent musician, recording high-quality music was costly, promotion was difficult, and growing an audience required patience and consistency. But Oristar kept pushing, kept improving, and kept releasing.
With time, his following began to expand across TikTok, YouTube, Instagram, and Spotify—platforms where he now connects with listeners from East Africa to Australia and beyond. Along the way, he has collaborated with rising talents like General YoungKido, with more exciting partnerships on the horizon.
Through it all, he has remained grounded in his East African heritage, allowing his story and culture to guide every stage of his evolution.
