MUSIBAU ADESINA SANUSI (SHABA): YESTERDAY, TODAY, TOMORROW - Alfred Olorunsogo.

As a true son of the soil (Ona-Ara) and a Socialist have taken it upon myself to check through the political diaries of Hon. Musibau Adesina Sanusi(Shaba) first as a reputable and illustrious son of the local Government and as a politician with outstanding political trajectory in the past, today and always.

MUSIBAU ADESINA SANUSI (SHABA)

Yesterday. Shaba had a better beginning and history was kind to him considering the positions he held and the excellent contributions he made at one point or the other to the growth of the council and the party at large. He voluntarily joined Peoples Democratic Party in 1998 and rose through ranks to become ward 5 youth leader and later Local Government youth leader. In 2015, he was neither standing on the fence nor behind the fence. He was noticed by all the leaders and was chosen as the Grand Youth Coordinator for Goodluck Ebele Jonathan Campaign. Successfully with other standing musketeers, Jonathan was brought to power. Of course, he never stood back watching the theatrics of the opposition in the state amputating the flying wings of the Peoples Democratic Party at every corner he therefore co-formed The Re-birth Of Peoples Democratic Party in 2018/19 in the state which later brought in our chivalrous Gov. Engr. Seyi Makinde.

Of course, no brilliant historian, diarist or hagiographer would ever ignore this while dotting or archiving the history of the Peoples Democratic Party in Ona Ara Local Government without mentioning Musibau Adesina Sanusi(Shaba) and his pasts that are part of present.

Today. Hon. Musibau Adesina Sanusi(Shaba) is a former Caretaker Chairman of Ona Ara local Government and the incumbent Chairman. As a Caretaker Chairman he proved his worth and convincingly convinced the leadership of the party to earn himself a well-deserved number one office in Oke Akanran. From the blues, the critics came with all disparaging commentaries to denigrate his efforts. Nevertheless, his determination and never-say-die spirit spur him into embarking on various projects across the length and breadth of the local council despite financial shortage and restriction. This was not going unnoticed as it earned Ona Ara local Government the national award in Abuja and turned her  a cynosure in the comity of 774 local Government councils. The truth is any lazy mind or mischief maker who is comfortable with hearsay would doubt the plausibility or veracity of this exegesis without call on the council for logical engagements with the residents or perhaps doing findings from individuals to ascertain the and contribution of Shaba.

Tomorrow. It is a normal phenomenon for an individual to be optimistic and hope for better days. But unfortunately, it would be justifiable and reasonable to choose the path of a pessimist considering the political socialisation and culture in Ona Ara Local Government. It is so disheartening and however disappointing that most of the people that truly loves this local Government experience ephemerality of power. The greed, insatiableness and gluttonous nature of many leaders within the political space  and what are considered as priorities have driven us to this retrogressive end. It birthed nothing but amusement that Hon. Musibau Adesina Sanusi(Shaba) could not be given opportunity again to put a finishing touches to his well-designed administration rather a newbie or greenhorn is considered above him.

Wait! At this critical time do the leaders consider progress or retrogression for the local council? Do "they" really mean well for the residents of this council? Do the leaders really understand politics at the grassroots and the likely effects in the future? Is this not a step back from our vision?

These are the profound questions all critical minds should ask the power-that-be. Let all readers enjoy the rhetorics and consider if replacing Shaba is the best decision.
