2022. All road leads to the International Conference Center on the 3rd of November, 2022 as Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Seyi Makinde will be decorated with the Akoni Oodua title.
This year's award, having been keenly contested and debated amongst the illustrious sons and daughters of Yoruba Land who are members of the Oodua Youth Council was settled by the majority of achievements of the Engr Seyi Makinde-led administration. And, speaking on behalf of the organizers, Comrade Oluyi Tayo said the Governor defeated the likes of the APC presidential flag bearer Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the Vice President of Nigeria Prof Yemi Osinbajo, the AFDB President Akinwunmi Adeshina to clinch the award.
He further stated that the group, OODUA YOUTH COALITION; a socio-cultural youth organization is committed to the promotion and mentorship of excellent youths in the area of leadership, governance, management and welfare of the people, after a rigorous nomination, and online poll result by youths across the States in the Southwest has chosen Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State to be decorated AKONI Oodua for the year 2022.
This year’s program and lecture will have several speakers from all works of life do justice to the topic, which would be transmitted to the general public and members of the organization across the globe.
