Inukan Chairperson Flag Off Campaign Against Rape.

Mrs Romoke Balogun, the wife of Inukan Local Council Development area flagged off campaign against rape in Inukan LCDA headquarter, Ajia. 

She took the campaign against rape to different places in the council area.

With the theme, "Say No to Rape" Mrs Balogun on behalf of her Excellency, Mrs Tamuominini Makinde, wife of the executive Governor of Oyo State, expressed dissatisfaction with the incessant cases of rape in the society describing it as evil and ungodly.

Mrs Balogun called on the people of Inukan LCDA to contact the Oyo State Ministry of Women Affairs Rapid Response Team (OYOMWARRT) if their Children's right are violated.

The Chairperson used the medium to advise parents and guardians not to cover up any raping acts in their community but to report such actions to the nearest police station or dial the Emergency number 615.

The Primary Health Center Coordinator in the Local government, Matron Jaiyeoba Bamidele expressed her view on the effect of rape in our society.

The Head of Local Government Administration Inukan LCDA, Mrs Ige also advised parents to keep proper watch on their children, give them proper upbringing, condemn indecent dressing with a view to curb the undesirable and anti social practices.

Hon Kunle Balogun, the Chairman of Inukan LCDA give kudos to the Executive Governor of Oyo state and the first lady for the initiative to start campaign against rape in the State.

He said the issue of rape cannot be treated with levity as it assumes a dangerous dimension demanding urgent attention. In his words, "We have to rise up and condemn the dastardly act which is wicked, barbaric and socially unacceptable", he stated.

Hon Kunle Balogun used the opportunity to inform the people to call 615 in case of emergency or contact the Local government for legal assistance for victims.

Reacting, Mrs Oduola, from National Council for Women Societies, a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO), described the campaign as timely and important. She commended the efforts of Her Excellency, Mrs Tamuominini Makinde and wife of the Caretaker Chairman of Inukan LCDA, Mrs Romoke Balogun for their collective efforts on the campaign against rape.

During the campaign, the chairperson visited the Ajia primary health center and met with a lady that just delivered a baby and present her some cash as gift. 

The Campaign trail included the member of the Caretaker Committee, LCDA Directors, faithful party members, Women leader and Youth leaders in Inukan Local Council Development Area.
