Meet Actress FISAYO AJISOLA BOROKININ the exceptional lady behind THE JEWEL EMPOWERMENT FOUNDATION she's a young  Nigerian woman who has been touching such a noteworthy number of lives with his generous work. 

FISCANLOADED had an interview chat with Fisayo Ajisola Borokinin the President of The Jewel Empowerment Foundation on our MONDAY SPECIAL as respects her generous work below were the accompanying conversations.

Please Can You Tell Us About Yourself?

My name is Fisayo Ajisola-Borokinni. I am a graduate of Biochemistry from Federal University of Agriculture Abeokuta.

I am the President of The Jewel Empowerment Foundation, a nongovernmental organization that I founded when I was 19 years old, to reduce societal menace amongst children and youths through education, youth empowerment seminars, career talks, entrepreneurship and skills training. 

The foundation helps young people to discover their hidden potentials and we’ve impacted over 3500 children and youths across Nigeria since inception. 

I am also an actress, movie producer and an Agripreneur.

In your own words, why do you think NGO is important Ma?

I run a charitable NGO and this’s borne out of my divine calling to positively impact the lives of children and youths across the world especially in Nigeria. 

This’s very important because if we want a change in our society, we as individuals need to stand up to make that change happen! We can’t just fold our arms and complain all day. 

We must be that change, it truly begins with us.

Do You Have Any Funny Experiences With Your NGO?

I mean any challenges?

Of course, there are always challenges. Sometimes, when you reach out to a group of people to show them love and care but they seem not to open their hands to welcome you, what do you do? Some children and young adults out there have terrible experiences and they are very bitter.

It’s sometimes hard for them to trust and open up to anyone. 

So it is usually my job to speak love to them and make them share their innermost fear and worries. Through this, we positively engage and encourage them to live their best life.

Another challenge is that, some group of people also feel entitled and feel that whatever money you’re spending to do a project is government or free money that belongs to them. So they even accuse you for not doing enough. 

Raising funds for a project could be very difficult and so, when we try our best to reach out but not appreciated, we have no other choice than to continue the work. It’s what I’m created to do. To make people smile.

Before you start your own NGO have you ever been a volunteer of any NGO before?

Yes, through my church and other group outreaches. It’s what I love to do. Formal or informal

How Do You Find Sponsors/Donations?

It has been about 80% self sponsored. And the remaining comes from family, friends and well wishers. I also get a few from some government agencies and personnel.
