2019 ELECTION: Ebonyi State APC To Pick Candidates Through Consensus.


The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ebonyi says it will pick candidate for the 2019 general election through consensus, as the approach "best suits the state’s peculiarities.’’


This was the goals came to after a crisis State Executive Committee (SEC) meeting, hung on Wednesday night in Abakaliki, with APC pioneers, including past individuals from the national and state assrmblies in attendance.

Charman of APC in Ebonyi, Chief Eze Nwachukwu, who tended to stakeholders, said the party's National Working Committee (NWC) had given the state chapters the scope to pick among consensus, backhanded or guide primaries to lead their primaries.


“We are here today following a directive from our national secretariat, which has mandated all state chapters of the party to meet and adopt the mode of party primaries suitable for them in line with their own preponderance peculiarities.

“We are going to report back to the national secretariat on whatever system or method we decide to adopt in this very crucial meeting,”  he said.


Nwachukwu clarified that the security challenges in the state and asserted supported assaults on party dependable by match political hooligans would not enable the party to go for direct primaries.

He included that the party would not have the capacity to think about the difficulties presented by direct primaries, despite the fact that it gives rise to chance to all enlisted and card conveying party individuals to take part in choosing banner bearers.
