On Saturday, July 14, 2018, the general population of Ekiti state thronged to the surveying stalls to choose their new Governor.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), had before now discharged names of 40 fruitful hopefuls, who had demonstrated enthusiasm for challenging for the position.
The two driving applicants notwithstanding, are the All Progressives Congress (APC) hopeful, Dr. Kayode Fayemi and Kolapo Olusola-Eleka of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Fayemi has government may behind him, while Kolapo is getting a charge out of the help of his boss, the incumbent Governor Ayodele Fayose.
Ekiti State has around 913,334 voters, yet just around 646,000 gathered their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs).
The races was held in 2,195 surveying units, while the last outcome will be reported at the INEC secretariat in Ado-Ekiti, the state capital.
